Bambu Lab H2D
The H2D is Bambu Lab's large-format dual-nozzle flagship — designed for users who need two materials printing simultaneously, not alternating. Where AMS-based systems switch between filaments, the H2D's dual nozzle system extrudes two materials at the same time — enabling true simultaneous dual-material printing with zero cross-contamination, and access to the most powerful laser module in Bambu's ecosystem.

- Why dual-nozzle instead of AMS: AMS multi-material printing switches between filaments sequentially, one at a time through one nozzle. The H2D's dual-nozzle prints two materials simultaneously — the left and right nozzles operate independently on the same print. This enables cleaner two-material prints with zero purge between the two primary materials, and unlocks true soluble support workflows where support material dissolves cleanly in water, leaving no marks on the finished part.
- The 40W laser — what it actually does: The H2D is the only Bambu Lab printer with access to the 40W laser module. At 40W, it cuts through 15mm plywood, 5mm acrylic, and most materials you'd want to engrave or cut in a workshop or small manufacturing context. If laser cutting is a genuine production requirement, the H2D is the only Bambu machine that delivers it.
- H2D vs H2C — the real difference: The H2D excels at two-material simultaneous printing and laser cutting. The H2C excels at high-colour-count multi-material printing with near-zero waste via Vortek nozzle swapping. They solve different problems. Choose H2D for soluble supports, dual-material functional parts, and laser cutting. Choose H2C for maximum colour count with minimum waste.
Who it's for:
- Engineering teams and manufacturers needing true dual-material functional parts, soluble support workflows for complex geometries, or integrated laser cutting capability in a single machine. Also the flagship for any production environment where the 40W laser cutting capability adds a second revenue stream.
